Melt surge band

I had a replacement given because the part of the band next to the HR monitor was falling apart. A few months into the 2nd watch I started to come apart and looks like so.

FitBit wont replace it again and so I havent used the watch at all for a few months because I feear the strap will completely tear off now. Just wanted to ask if anyone has a strap in similar condition? I was thinkin could I use something to melt the tear to bring it back together? I'm tempted to use a soldering iron but not sure20160510_214133.jpg

Mysterious they aren't able to help @Omnitude , is the tracker still under warranty?

Warranty counts when purchasing the original tracker for the duration of the warranty, with getting a replacement, warranty isn't extended.

It be tricky to replace the band ourself since the tracker is integrated into..
