New bug found about Auto Backlight Function

I accidentally found a bug about Auto Backlight Function turn off. It happened when I used Free Running app this afternoon. Because of boring to wait for syncing to GPS I use quick start button and start running. After finish running it's dark I found that my Fitbit Surge Auto Backlight Function turned to off. This is twice so I'm pretty sure that it's a bug. Anybody who found this experience please share. I hope this info might help Fitbit technical team improve their bug fixed in next app update.

Hello there @chainut! Thank you for taking your time and share your experience with us. I'd like to know if you already performed a restart. Let me know if the behavior is the same after this.

Hi, this is happening to me now.  Have only had Surge for 2 monts (max) and it worked until yesterday.  Now backlight set on auto does not work.

  • Have version 16.34.5.14, on Android.
  • Have shut down using home (left side) and right side bottom buttons
  • Have shut down using settings>shutdown
  • Have Android

Is there another way to shutdown that resets the device?  Or is there something else I need to do?

Disappointed at the moment and would appreciate any feedback please.

Thanks!!

@PedalPowerGirl Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Try to turn the backlight option off in your on-screen settings on the Surge. Then turn it back on or auto. It should work. Also, try a restart (check @SunsetRunner's steps on that post; do it again if you already did).

Try that out and let me know how it goes! Smiley Happy
