No second hand or 24hr options for clockface

I'm finding myself increasingly disappointed with the lack of a second hand or an option for 24hr time. As someone training in paramedicine I have need of a second hand for things like manually counting heart rate. So as much as I love my surge I'm having to continue wearing an analogue watch.

The 24 hour clock shouldn't be an issue as you can select this in your profile settings at https://www.fitbit.com/user/profile/edit . Once changed and saved the next time you sync your Surge will be updated.

The second hand is more of an issue and there have been many posts from people wanting this. Someone has created a feature suggestion for it which you may wish to vote for:

I think the problem with the second hand is that it will drain the battery a lot quicker. LED displays use less power when they are static, which means that the power consumption of the display will only increase once every minute. If you add a second hand or seconds display the display will change every second meaning that the power consumption will also increase every second. Causing a much greater power drain on the battery. However, it is something that Fitbit could add as an option that could be enabled or disabled

As the person posting the reply correctly elaborated that adding a second hand will cause a drain in the battery.

However, there is an indirect way to make use of the timer for people in medical field who needs the second hand to check the patient's heart rate. My wife works as a nurse. She has created a timer for 15 seconds which is adequate to check the patient's heart rate. She flicks the timer, starts it and  surge vibrates when the 15 second is over (enough time to get the heart rate times 4). The beauty of the thing is that the 15 second set by the user is retained. There is no need to be set it again. Even though it means pressing the button couple of times to get the timer started. Better than wearing analog watch and smart watch (which is not that smart yet)
