I have a Surge. I do a regular walk at a local park. I choose Free Run at the beginning of my walk and stop it when I am done. It reads out the miles as I reach them and it indicates 4 miles when I am done. However, when I sync with my iPhone, although the distance is 4 miles, it says it was a 3.68 mi Run for the specific exercise. Why is the exercise distance less and why does it say less than the 4 miles that the other indicators show I walked? I choose Free Run, by the way, because I like to get the GPS data and map.

Hello @OaklandRobb, welcome to our Community my friend! Certainly this is odd and should not lower your distance when you synced your exercised. I wonder if you start your exercise with "Quick start"? If you start moving before the signal is found, Surge uses your step count to estimate the distance you traveled before GPS tracking began. Therefore, the total distance calculated for the activity may be slightly less accurate than if you'd waited for the GPS fix before you started moving. For best results, wait for the GPS fix before you start your workout.
Hope it helps and see you around! ![]()
