Pace Variance

I currently walk with a partner who also has a fitbit.  We both turn on our exercise simulatenously, but when we finish we have different pace numbers.  For example, today we walked and I ended with 15'27", 15'23", and 15'33" and she had 13'16", 13'04", and 13'13",  why the disparity if we are walking next to each other the entire walk?

Hi, @miriam117! The most likely culprit is one of your stride lengths. I suspect if you compare distance at the end of the walk, those would be different, too. One of you is registering more distance per step than the other and that's throwing everything off.

Thanks for taking a break from stepping @miriam117, welcome to the Forums! @MakMak Thanks for your prompt respond, it was of great help. I'd like to add that your Fitbit Account take your personal information to calculate your stride length, you can modify that information on your Fitbit.com Dashboard on the "Settings". Also we have to  take in count that the way you if you're comparing information. You can give it a try again after updating your stride length in both accounts.

I checked and we did have different stride lengths in our settings so she changed hers to match mine. We went for a walk this morning and still have a variance.  I had 15'44", 15'38", 16'04" and she had 14'42", 14'04", and 14'36".  Any other suggestions?
