Sleep sensivity setting for Surge

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hello,

I am totally confused by this setting. I mean, I understand what's the difference between 'normal' and 'sensitive'.

but which one produces results that are closer to reality?

I was using 'normal' during the previous week - I averaged 5 hours of sleep.

Now I'm using 'sensitive' setting - I get an average of 3 hours of sleep per day.

It's a huge difference thus I'm wondering which result I should take into account.

Is there any common practice for Surge about this setting? (like 3/4 users use X mode because Y)

A warm welcome to our Fitbit Community family @DevilScreamCat Happy

Good to know that you're using this fantastic feature. Well, can't give you an estimated amount or percentage of people using those options, since our family has growth quite a bit. But, it will depend what is the information that you want to get. The "sensitive" mode is to get extremely detailed sleep reporting, in contrast with the "normal" mode that is used to get more basic idea of your sleep patterns. Robot Embarassed

  • The normal setting counts significant movements as being awake (such as rolling over) and is appropriate for most users.
  • The sensitive setting will cause your tracker to record nearly all movements as time spent restless or awake. This setting may be helpful for users who wake up feeling tired even though their sleep history shows sufficient rest.

I think that using Normal is more practical if you want to see just basics details. Hope this helps!

See you around! Cat Happy
