My Surge is over a year old and the band is coming apart from the backing alongside the watch-face. It works well otherwise but I now have this gaping opening. The Surge was not an inexpensive device and I would think that it would hold up for much longer than a year. Is there anything that could be done. Thank you.

Yep, my Surge was a great birthday gift in May 2015, but a 18 months later, the band has cracked on both sides of the watch itself around the screws. Seriously my family also has other fitbits (Charge HR) that have needed several replacements (fortunately under warranty), and now my watchband needs replacing. For the price paid for this Surge and seeing what I am seeing - that the band is irreplacable, this is extremely disappointing. I have worn this watch religiously, and even though I suffer from a skin complaint, which the band seems to aggravate, I have enjoyed its functionality. But the band lets it down. Fitbit could actually make money on replacement bands, just like they do on other fitbit styles. A discount on a new one is not the desirable solution. I do not seek out the cheapest model, expecting proper research has been done on the whole watch. Fitbit can you actually offer something better for your "Surge" Community - it is dwindling!
