Please explain how mobile track works. I forgot to wear watch when I went away for the weekend but I still accumulated steps and other data. How does it record this information when I didn't wear the surge for 3 1/2 days straight. Is it from the Bluetooth connection with my phone?

When you use Moblie Track it should upload to you Dashboard as soon as you turn it off.

Hello there @Tld0430! You can use Mobile Track on your phone when you're not wearing your Fitbit tracker. This will help you to keep recording your steps, distance and calories. To get that information you need to keep yoru phone with you while you're walking. Assuming you have an Internet connection, when you open the Fitbit app your phone's data automatically syncs with the app. Thank you for your help @WendyB

Hope this helps!

Hello. I used Mobile track today because I forgot my Alta at home. I logged 5000+ steps with Mobile track. When I got home, my phone automatically synced with the Alta and deleted those 5000+ steps. I can't seem to get them back. What went wrong?

Mobile track added my 16,000 plus steps for the day. Once my Alta synced the next day it wiped out my steps. However, when I look under miles, it still shows that I did over 8 miles. How do I retrieve steps. This puts me way behind in the challenges.

Welcome to the Community @SunsetRunner @Smartnpretty2! If you manually logged the steps and then you sync it will automatically delete that data. when you manually log an activity, its step and calorie data override the data automatically detected by your tracker during the same time period. This ensures that your steps are not counted twice as long as the manually logged activity has the correct start time and duration.

Hope it helps!

Hi there @Smartnpretty2, nice to see you around! Heart

Sorry to hear that when you lost data that day put you behind in a Challenge. I'd like to know if you're still having this issue to further assist you.

Since you mentioned that you're currently using your Fitbit Alta to track steps for your Challenges, I recommend using only one device at a time. Mobile track (which tracks steps from your phone) was originally designed to help users that don't have an option to use a Fitbit tracker when they need it. Your Alta will go with you anywhere through the day; so you can leave your phone at home to run or do any other outdoor activity.

I'll be around in case that you need anything else! Smiley Very Happy
