Surge Bands

I purchased a Fitbit Surge for my husband in Feb of 2016. Due to his job, he only wears his band when he works out and on the weekends. Shortly before his warranty expired his band broke. The replacement was sent in February but he was away at school and didn't get to start wearing it again until April. Well, now the band on the 2nd Surge is bubbling and lifting, actually it started doing this in August. What a life span huh? After emailing customer support we were told that he can have 25% off of their product and that their product is "Built to last". These aren't exactly built for much since he doesn't even wear the device all of the time. Why would we put $250 into a product that doesn't last and then spend more on another product that may not last either? Doesn't make much sense. So now we have 2 duds at home and no Fitbit or any type of tracker for him. It would be nice it Fitbit would step up to replace the band, especially since their are MANY posts about these bands on the forum.

Hi

Fitbit sends out replacement trackers when decided and under warranty. They don't have any repair service.

The band on the Surge is fixed and not exchangeable.

There are trackers with exchangeable bands:

  • Fitbit ionic
  • Flex / Flex 2
  • Alta / Alta HR
  • Charge 2
  • Blaze

From what Fitbit told me the replacement tracker that was sent to us is one that was returned to them and not used, it only lasted 5 months. Definitely not worth the $250 when they don't stand by their product.

Go on Amazon and search for Fitbit Surge bands and there are a number of different suppliers and options.

Well I did not know that replacement bands were available until I posted here last weekend. One of the responses to my post pointed me to Amazon for replacement bands.
