Surge GPS Question

Saw on the news last night a report on trackers used to solve crimes. So they had a reporter wear a Surge for a day. Pluged it in to computer and everywhere he had gone was recorded....But, Fitbit will not record GPS location UNLESS you actually turn on an activity,I.E biking,walking,running...is that correct? They made it seem as if your location is being tracked 24/7 by just wearing the product....

Only the time & steps taken at any time can be looked onto when viewing on the Fitbit Account..

There's no facility to track someone by the GPS in the tracker. Only when logged a GPS activity, only the activity and map of during that activity can be shown on the fitbit account.. unless removed the activity..

You are correct. GPS location is not recorded unless you initiate an activity on your Surge, Blaze, or App using MobileRun. You can learn more specifics about Fitbit's GPS functionalities here.
