Surge battery issues

I use my Fitbit daily, but have noticed over the last week or so that the battery runs down in less than a day.

I've followed advice from other topics, have re-started my device several times, and even removed it with a view to re-installing it.

However, each time I try to re-install the Surge, I pair the 4 digit number showing on my Surge to my phone, and each time the following message appears. "Error - The operation couldn't be completed. (com.fitbit.HTTP error 500)"

I have also re-booted my phone several time, with no success.

Please help, this is so frustrating.

I even went out to buy a Fitbit Iconic, but decided not to after inspecting it. Very disappointing cheap and flimsy looking compared to the Surge.

Update:

Appears to be paired, but now wont sync. This Fitbit is in danger of being binned.

Hi @Col1892, thanks for confirming that information.

As this type or errors are usually related to mobile apps needing the latest version, please check that both your phone or computer and Fitbit App are up to date. After the update, you'll need to try setup again.

Hi @Col1892, thanks for getting back and for following the suggestion that @WendyB suggested.

About the syncing issues please confirm that your Fitbit App and phone are up to date first, then you can follow these steps:

  1. Force quite the App and turn off your phone
  2. Open Fitbit App, go to Account (upper right corner) > Delete Fitbit tracker from the Account
  3. Open the Bluetooth Setting on your phone and delete Fitbit tracker from there too
  4. Reboot Bletooth to make sure tracker is not there
  5. Restart your tracker  a couple of times and Access back to Fitbit App > Account to set up your Fitbit tracker back
  6. Turn on notifications

Hope this helps.

Hi Yojana,

I have tried your advice several times, yet am still getting this message......."Error - The operation couldn't be completed. (com.fitbit.HTTP error 500)" Sometimes the error code is 400 or 300.
