Surge counts steps while spleeping and no reset possible

Hi, I just got the Surge and it counted approx. 600 steps, while I slept.

Pretty disappointed about the accuracy. But even worse, I could not reset the steps for the day, in order to correct the inaccuracy.

Is that possible?
