Surge display not working.

After only 2 months the band is tearing out at the back screw holes, and today the display started to get lines in it and then quit completely.  After looking through the community posts I am not the first to have both these issues.  Are these watches that are supposed to be for active people really that poorly made/designed?  Having second thoughts of my purchase of their products as well as their stock.
