Surge exercise log changed after 1 hour

Firstly I have synced my Fitbit with my Garmin bike computer.

I completed a 40k bike with my bike computer indicating I have covered just over 1,500 calories.

My fitbit auto synced with the Garmin and I then reviewed my calories burnt which I track closely. It indicated 1,800 calories, which I believe is relatively close.

An hour later I went to review my stats again for max and average speed etc. and the fitbit surge had changed indicating that my total number of calories was now 1,278.

I can understand calories going up due to the heart rate but never down, has anyone any ideas what this could be. I only wish I did a screen shot of the 1,800 calorie version to enable me to show and hopefully give a better understanding. Second time this has happened and is rather annoying to say the least when my diet has been specifically designed based on the number of calories I burn.

Hi there @SimonWH, welcome aboard to our Community. I'm curious to know if this happened directly on your Surge screen, or it was on your Dashboard after the exercise was synced?

You mentioned it was automatically synced with your Fitbit Surge, so this mean your exercise is synced through a different app. Can you tell me what apps are you using? I'm asking this, since according to the compatible apps, there isn't one for Garmin. In other words if your exercise automatically syncs, it means the exercise came through a different third party app, that could be compatible with Garmin. This might caused variation on your numbers.

I wonder, also if this happens when you track your bike exercise using the exercise shortcut of your Surge?

You are right when you mentioned the calories cannot automatically goes down after a exercise was sync. So in this case it will be require to review how your exercise is synced and what apps are related.

Keep me posted how it goes, I'll be around.
