Surge problem with elliptical tracking

My Surge using the Eliptical activity records only half the distance that the machine I use records. The editing process only allows you to correct time. Is there a way to edit this.

It will not be accurate on an elliptical as its not step based.

 

But you can add steps by using the Walking record to manually add them. But just beware manually added steps do not go to challenges or badges.

 

I myself just go with it.
