Surge screen keeps going blank

I've had the surge since Dec 2015 and the screen all of a sudden started going blank or having half the screen showing and the back light is always on dim. Anyone have any idea what could be happening and how to solve this problem?

Try a restart. Sometimes doing it a few times helps.
