I really enjoy the functionality of the Surge but the strap and how it is connected to the watch is frustrating. Fitbit has been great about replacement (I am on my 3rd in 2+ years) but my latest is doing the same thing 😞
it is separating /bubbling up around the screws and shortly it will begin to peel back. Then water will start to get into the watch itself then the touch screen will start to malfunction. I was hoping there were plans for a 2018 surge that looked more like the Blaze? After this one goes I am going to look at what else is out there that is more durable because I feel bad calling every 6-12 months for a replacement and I am fairly easy going with the watch. I take it off to shower, don't do anything like hard manual labor in it and am careful when wearing not to bang it around. I run 3-4 days a week, bike 4-5 and workout 2-3 so I do sweat with it on but it is a activity tracker 🙂
again, happy with how it works and CS but feel it could be improved upon. Thanks!

I'm having the same issue with the strap and cannot believe that you are not able to replace the band. The Surge is the top of teh range within Fitbit, you able to change the band on a Blaze but not teh Surge, crazy but true. Maybe it's time to change brand. Regards

Thanks for taking a break from stepping @pedromaia. I appreciate your comment about what happened in your case. Surge design is different from the Fitbit Blaze, that's why Surge doesn't have the option to switch bands even if Fitbit would like to do it. I understand you feel that way, there is already a request for this suggestion in our Feature Suggestions board: New and replaceable bands for the Fitbit Surge!

I too am on my 3rd surge in 2 years. My current strap is delaminating. I did stop it for awhile with crazy glue but that only lasted about 3 months. It is now falling apart. Not sure what product I will go to this spring or when it completley falls apart, but it will not be a surge.

Hi Kathy, thx for the feedback, the real question now is how many users that have a Surge watch find themselves in the same situation as us. This cannot be good for the Fitbit brand as their most expensive watch is made of such poor quality. I wonder what does Fitbit have to say for themselves? As far as I’m concerned Fitbit should either replace or provide a fix for the band.

I have the blue fitbit Surge. I bought my first one probably a year and a half ago. I washed the product like it recommends and I don't shower with it at all. Within 6months of wearing it, the band started bubbling at the lower front base of the watch. I wrote fitbit and received a replacement. I am on my 2nd and again after 6-8months the same thing started happening. I spoke with customer service and explain my frustation. When they told me it was out of warrenty I questioned about the 2nd one being under warrenty and they agreed to send me a new one. My 3rd is currently on it's way. I really like fitbit, however I'm afraid my 3rd surge will do the same thing in 6months. I have tried super glue, however it does not look as nice. I agree that Fitbit should do something about the band on their surge.
