Surge totally useless in hike mode

I keep thinking that one of these days surge will actually be accurate when hiking. Well, the day has yet to arrive. I never get a map of what I've done and I think it only measures "as the crow flies." No account taken for elevation gain or loss. A half mile is a half mile despite going up a mountain with a mile elevation gain. Useless in my book. So sorry I spent all this money.

Hi @paf it is great to see you here again in the Community! As far as hiking goes, there are some features that you can use in order to obtain that information that you are looking for. If you want to get a map with the route that you have walked, you can use the multisport function which instantly starts GPS. After you sync your tracker you will automatically get the map. To track the elevation gain you can make use of the floors counter. Every 3 meters that you gain in elevation, will be counted as a floor.

I hope these tips help you and I also hope that you have a great weekend!

The instructions are not clear. Why is there a "hike" option if not accurate? All I get when trying to get a map is a circle going round and round.
