Did you contacted the support team from the official contact page @SunsetRunner ?
A refund can be given if having the tracker less than 45 days from purchase and when purchased from Fitbit directly.

Other stores can have different policies regarding being able to get a refund..

Hi, I had the same problem and followed the same procedure. Did you get your refund in the end? I am 5 weeks in and still waiting 😞
