I've tried everything the form/help says to do and my surge won't sync, it just says looking....if I turn my surge off and back on it will sync once then go back to looking...mode. I have an iPhone 5 and wonder if this is gapping to anyone else. Help!

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Natpal Woman Very Happy! Strange let me say.. What steps did you try?

In the meantime, I'd recommend trying the following:

  • Log out of your Fitbit App
  • Force quit the App
  • Restart your Surge
  • Turn off the Bluetooth
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes
  • Turn on the Bluetooth
  • Log back into your Fitbit App

Let me know if this helps!

No, it didnt work? The only way I can get it to sync is to manually go to settings on the surge then tap "bluetooth classic" then "pair". It looks like it shuts down, then when it comes back on it will sync with my iphone. For some reason it just won't stay there? I also noticed when I put it on "sync all day" it tells me to set up my bluetooth then when I press continue it goes no where and the sync all day slides back to the off postition? Hope that makes sense.

Bluetooth classic pairing is only needed for music control- you do not need it to sync to the app. Mine finds the Surge in 2-3 seconds- quite fast really. Have you tried restarting the Surge?

Do the following:

  • Go to the Bluetooth setting and turn it off
  • Then do a hard shut down of your iPhone
  • Wait as usual after a hard shut down and repower your iPhone and then return to setting and turn on Bluetooth.
  • Then follow the directions from your Surge. First it will re-find your Surge and then Surge (Classic) do the connection/pairing number bit etc.

This worked right away on a friend of mine and hope this works for you!

Ok tried the above and it still won't sync? It's not even listed under my Bluetooth as one of my devices. Anything else I can try?

I'd recommend getting in touch with Customer Support directly my friend @Natpal. I'm pretty sure they will do a deeper investigation and see where the issue is coming from.

Don't forget to mention all the steps you've done so far to avoid getting the same ones.

Don't lose the hope yet my friend, you'll be in good hands!

I add a new device and then when you hit surge it asks if it's a replacement. It fixes it every time. HOWEVER it only fixes it for a few days. And this is after I got an actualreplacement device. But even with your current tracker you can set it up as a replacement. Hopefully they are working on this. Very frustrating.
