Hi My surge is still connected to my previous computer. I can not get it to sync with the new computer.
Installed Fitbit on windows 10 & no icon. I go to Fitbit page says installed. I have uninstalled the program & restarted the computer 3 times. Turned the computer off for a few hours. Any info on how to do this most appreciated. Thanks Zeus man

It's great to know that you got a new computer! First of all, I'd suggest to uninstall all programs from Fitbit that you might have in both computers, in case that you have the old one around too.
Now, most of Windows 10 computers have built in Bluetooth, if this is your case you can use these instruction on how to download the Fitbit App from the Windows App Store. If you have this option, check troubleshooting steps on how to reconnect your tracker using the Fitbit App.
Or you can keep using the Fitbit connect, check these instructions on how to download it; you can use that link, then try to sync it. And please let me know if you encounter any error or message.
I'll be around!

If you are using the downloaded fitbit connect program then you'll need to have the fitbit wireless dongle installed. Is this the case?
As you are running windows 10 you may want to try using the fitbit all from the windows store instead. Providing your computer has a recent version of bluetooth then you won't need the fitbit dongle and this may get round whatever problem you are having with the software.

Hi Steve, Yes I'm using the dongle. I also tried removing the dongle & it still shows installed & I launched it. I get a brief message about disconnecting surge from previous device before installing in a new computer. I do not have the other computer to remove it from. Thanks for the info. Earl

This confuses me. If you have a new computer you need to download the connect software to it and install on the new computer

Hi, Thanks for your reply. Sorry I was not clearer. When I download the connect software from the store to my new computer. I get a brief pop up message. "Before connecting your surge to a new device , first remove it from the installed device." When I try to install the available update, it downloads & installs, but can not find my surge or sync with it. Thanks, Earl

You need to go into your Fitbit.com dashboard and remove the surge from your account (and phone, including Bluetooth if you have it connected), restart your pc, then add it back in with the windows Fitbit app. Hope that helps 😉

Hello, I was removing, not uninstalling the app. I had uninstalled the device & base station. Uninstalled all & restarted computer & reinstalled & works like it should. Thanks for pointing out my error.
Hello, Thanks for the warm welcome, your input & for moderating also. I was not uninstalling the app, I removed it with the base & the surge. Working like it should. Thanks for help. Earl
