Make sure your phone's bluetooth is OFF, and it should sync up with the Windows 10 app. That is the only reason my Surge has failed to sync - forgetting to disconnect it from my phone by turning bluetooth off (or vice versa).

Hello @masterwho,

Welcome to the community!

If you are still running Windows 8, you can sync with the Fitbit App, but you'll still need to use the dongle and enable permissions on the base stattion.  To do this:

  1. Run the Fitbit App, then swipe from the right to go to Settings.
  2. Click on Permissions.
  3. Enable permission on Fitbit Base Station.

Alternatively, you can install the Fitbit Connect software.  All that said, the upgrade to Windows 10 is free.  I would just upgrade to Windows 10 and use the updated Fitbit App.  It can sync with just bluetooth 4.0 and you'll no longer need the dongle.

I hope this helps.
