I have recently been on holiday in Italy, only 25degrees C, but as I was walking and climbing (Vesuvius) a fair bit and not used to such warm temperatures I was sweating more than usual, for longer than usual. After 10days the Surge screen would 'crash' in the afternoon, although the monitoring would still be OK in the background. The screen would recover overnight (I don't wear it over night) and the pattern repeated the following day. However, the screen finally died completely after 14days.
Should a top of the range device, intended to monitor exercise activity such as this be susceptible to sweating for extended periods? Others seem to have had similar problems.
Regards
Simon

@SimonThePieman, do you know for a fact your sweat was causing the issue with the Surge? Was the screen fogged from the inside? I ask because some folks have reported the Surge can overheat when exposed to direct sunlight on a very warm day.
FWIW, I had my Surge fog up this last summer due to a lot of heat and humidity coupled with my long 90+ minute runs in the heat, and yes, I sweat a lot as well. I found by sealing my Surge inside of a food container full of rice for several hours of the day the fogging inside the Surge was reduced and the operation of the tracker was gradually restored. At this point roughly a month after our last hot/humid spell, the functionality of my Surge is *almost* back to full operation (I still need to restart it a few times per day to get the screen swipe to work).
