What with strap issues, HR not consistent and synching being occasional to say the least I'm now about to cut my losses. I have an Alta on order that I may cancel just to cut my nose off to spite my face.
Todayu I am completely unable to sync.
I have had "tracker not found", "cant connect to live data" "sync error, please try again" etc etc.
I have switch phone bluetooth on and off as that used to work. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I have rebooted both devices over and over. I have connected the phone to the laptop. I've tried to reset the surge and I've tried to add it as a new device.
I was half way through a ride today and only half of it recorded.
I seem to spend so much time with grief that instead of getting fitter and less stressed I'm sitting here getting fat and very stressed!!
Any ideas anyone??
Phew, thanks and breathe out....

Welcome to the Community @Dr_Eam79! A friend of mine used to have the same issue, so, let me know if you are running the latest version of the Fitbit app and if you don't know, let me give you some tips to set up your Surge one more time:
1. Open the Fitbit App and log out
2. Turn off the Bluetooth and also your cellphone
3. Restart one more time your tracker
4. Turn On your cellphone and also the Bluetooth
5. Log back into your Fitbit app and try the update (Android - iOS).
6. Finally, Set up your tracker as a new Fitbit device.
Let me know how it goes!

@Chris1963 I gave up and bought a Garmin Edge 520 last year, the bundle with premium HRM, cadence sensor, and RPM sensor (no magent on spoke). Installed OpenStreet Maps and haven't looked back. The cycling club I ride with post routes with cue sheets on RideWithGPS, you can export as TCX and drop into Edge 520's NewFiles folder and it installs as a course with turn cues.
Much happier than when I was using phone or Surge or Apple Watch or Wahoo RFLKT+.
