Hi, I'm new to using my Surge. I play Ice Hockey quite often and wondered what the closest activity on the surge was to be able to track this as accurately as possible? TIA

Hello, @SunsetRunner! 🙂 Welcome to the Forums! Your tracker will automatically record this exercise and then, the best way to record this activity would be log an activity on your dashboard, type in the word hockey and you will be able to enter all the information. See image below.

I hope this helps, let me know if you need something else.

Did anyone reply on what sport is closest to playing hockey since Fitbit doesn't give hockey as a workout?  How accurate do u find the step count while playing hockey?? Appreciate any answers that r deemed true

Hi, @OCanada! Welcome aboard! Cat Tongue You do have the option to log hockey on your manually logged activities, I recommend to wear your tracker and then just enter the activity, it should give you pretty accurate results.

Let me know how it goes! :}

I am on the ice at  6-10 hours per week, I always wear my Surge and it usually recognizes that I've done something. Even though the step count is around 1200 steps per hour, the min active will show an hour increase (except for some lower level games). Calories burned is pretty accurate. I was never able to get the surge to connect to GPS to get an accurate distance measurement though (concrete and well insulated building I guess). I would not wear it as a player as I would be worried about it getting destroyed by some knucklehead slashing me (only out there as a ref these days). Emujo

Hey, @Emujo! It is nice to see you around. Robot Happy Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience. Hmmm..It's unfortunate to hear that your GPS has not been working while you are playing. Have you tried to use it outside of the building? What happens then? Is it still not working?

haha I agree with you, Hockey seems like a very tough sport. Cat LOL

Keep me updated!

LOL you're not thinking this through..The ice stops inside the building...hard to "ice" skate w/o ice. The GPS works fine outside..Emujo
