...plug in to wall or computer and continuously hold the left and bottom right buttons to reset since it won't power down untethered - should reset after you count to 30 but before you get to 50...
Sorry for the frustration; bluetooth updates are notoriuos for bad handshakes when your battery is low, always a good practice to have plugged in when updating. The "stuck screen" or "freeze" only happens in the middle of an aborted sync or firmware update with a depleted battery 😉
