Two runs recordings, one correctly, one not

For quite a while, when recording a run or a hike, my app and online dashboard show that I have done the exercise twice.  The two runs are not identical though.  The second won't show a map and the timings etc are all different (although similar).  The steps recorded for this phantom second run are also added to my daily steps - which is really annoying.

I have tried:

- Turning the fitbit off and on again

- Updating the app

- Updating the firmware

- And again turning it off and on again

This is really frustrating and I'm surprised I can't find any mention of anyone else having this problem.

I've had my fitbit ages (3 or 4 years) and I love it!  The original strap is showing signs of wear and I'm perfectly happy to just replace the strap, but with these problems I'm beginning to wonder if I should just buy a new machine. 😞

Thanks a million for sharing the issues that you're experiencing with your Fitbit data.  A possible reason that might causing this estrange behavior in your Dashboard is if you have another App pair your account for example MyFitnessPal or Strava or if you're using MobileTrack in your phone. That might be causing that you're getting extra steps or workouts. If so, make sure you're not starting an activity from Strava when you're working out. You can even unlink them to see if this is even the issue.

But if you're not using any of those options, please restart your tracker and give it a try today to see how it goes! In case that this doesn't help let me know so we can check the next step.

Have a good one! Smiley Happy

A new watch it is then.  And it won't be a fitbit.

Any suggestions?

Thanks Yohana. That seems to have done the trick! Disconnecting from Strava worked. Thank you.  Now for a new strap! 😄
