Water Proof Talks

I know that the currentl fitbit line up is water resistant. But is there talks about having the possible surge that is water proof? I can't stay away from my surge watch but running is causing knee pain. I am starting swimming again and I would hate to go to another device just for swimming. if there is anything on the "Coming Soon" Scenario. I would really like to know so that I can wait for it. I love my surge.

But I wore the Flex in the pool and it did not track any activity as its not step based and all Fitbits are stepped based
