Why is it counting steps during GPS bike?

Hi everyone. Today I used my Fitbit for a GPS bike ride for the first time. It works fine now but it is still adding steps to the amount of steps I've done, even though I am doing a GPS bike ride. So my steps are completely out now, is there a way to stop this? Surely it should not log steps when I'm doing a GPS bike ride?

Many thanks

Fitbit trackers always count steps in whatever mode they happen to be in. There has been discussion around Bike activities for as long as I've been involved here and the debate is pretty polarised. Even when manually adding a bike activity for those trackers without a GPS capability, 50% of people want to see their 'steps' counted and 50% don't.

At the moment Fitbit counts but I guess that it's not impossible that this may change one day.
