i have had 2 surges - on my second the battery drain has been dire. i dont know if this will help others as i noticed that in the app on my alarms i had an alarm which was disabled and couldn't be deleted (it was greyed out). i reinstalled the app which removed this old alarm, and it has solved my battery issues. for anyone with similar issues might be worth checking and reinstalling the app, as the problem in my case was the app not the watch.
