My Surge logged me at 19000 steps and 9.9 miles within 5 minutes of putting it on my wrist!

Any ideas? This is the 5th or 6th time it's happened.

Hey there, @daddydurb! Man WinkWelcome aboard! Please try to restart your tracker. I just have some questions.  What were you doing when this happened? Have you manually logged some activities during that moment? How many steps did you have before this happen and at what time was this?

Please let me know if this happens again and provide me with as much information as you can so I can investigate more.

No,
I just picked up the surge off the desk in the afternoon- I had not worn it
all day and had not logged any activities manually. So, I should have had
only 100 steps or so because I noticed the problem 5 min after I put the
Surge on. I also got credited with about 21 phantom miles last fall in a 5
min block, but the step count only read 269 steps!

Hello, @daddydurb! thanks for the updates! hmm.. is a fan or air conditioner near your desk? how about the activity log? Please keep in mind that if you are just walking or running there is no need for you to log the activity this feature works great for non step based activities like yoga or swimming.

If the restart does not resolve the issue, and your tracker is giving you inaccurate information even when you have just put it on, I would say contact our Customer Support so they can look into your account with their internal tools.

Keep me updated!

Solange,
there is a ceiling fan that runs at medium speed continuously- sometime my
Surge lays on my desk with the green light sensors upward and the watch
face downwards. I still am not sure how it would interfere with the Surge.
Even if the Surge was reading the motion of the blades, I couldn't rack 34
miles in 10 min. I think I may return it to Best Buy and try another.
Thanks anyhow,

Matt

Hey, @daddydurb! Thanks for the updates. The fan will defenitely interfere with your tracker, giving you false steps, floors and miles. I recommend you to try it out to confirm the accuracy. Please set your into activity mode and then walk a 100 steps and count them as you walk, then sync your tracker and check out how it did. You can also try a restart if it is not being accurate, this will correct any internal issues.

Let me know how it goes!
