My surge had the red light come on this morning after a run, I tried shutting it down and restarting, I've synced it several times to my phone and so far nothing is working. I'm using a Blackberry Passport running the Amazon version of the Android app, there are no notifications on the app or on my computer screen that there is an update needed. I've never used my dongle, don't know where it is, I've tried connecting my cable to my computer and Surge but nothing seems to happen. Any suggestions?

I would restart it several times
