surge GPS is not accurate

My surge GPS doesn't seem accurate. I used a mobile app and compared the results and there was nearly half a mile difference. Looking at the map fitbit showed me going through a field and not on the road?

I've been having the same problem, and it seems to be gradually getting worse.  I was noticing about .15 miles off on a 3-4 mile run, but today it was almost a half a mile off on a 5-mile run.  It seems to be off on every run now.  I have had my Surge since June 2015 and have not experienced this problem until a little over a month ago.  I had a cheap gps watch before that was extremely accurate.  I'm really disappointed with this one after paying so much more.

Yes I'm let down massively by it. Does anyone have a solution for it. I'm thinking of sending it back. It's a lot of money wasted as far as I'm concerned. I won't recommend anyone to buy one.

i too am having problems with my GPS data ... was on Live Chat last night and was advised to switch Surge off and back on again, and that should hopefully resolve issue, and to then re-do the same route again today and check.

todays data is again wrong, and much different from yesterdays Map 😕 ... but 2 previous days to these maps appeared to be fine..

ive no emailed  Fitbit for their response, as this is no use atall when im relying on Data everyday to encourage my Exercise and Pace etc 😮

i hope something is found and sorted out

My Surge too has begun giving wrong readings, falling short by as much as 200-300 metres every km at times. Switching off and on usually helps but it's frustrating to do that in the middle of a run. Reasonably accurate distance measurement goes to the heart of why I got the Surge. Without that...

Hope Fitbit comes up with some kind of solution.
