Hey Fitbit Community,
There’ll be times when you just don't feel like working out. This isn’t only normal, it’s totally acceptable too. The idea of forcing yourself to do a workout can lead to an unsustainable and poor relationship with exercise.
With the Daily Readiness score, you’ll get an overview of your physiological state. This helps you gauge whether your body is ready for a challenging workout, or if it needs more recovery time.
Check the Fitbit app or select devices each morning to view your score. It provides a 100-point scale, ranging from 0 (low) to 100 (high). This score is based on your resting heart-rate, recent sleep, and heart-rate variability.
Note: Like all heart rate tracking technologies, accuracy is affected by physiology, location of device, and your movements and activity.
Readiness score’s 3 categories
What does a high or low score mean?
A high score means you’re well recovered from recent activities, and may be ready for a high intensity workout. A low score means your body is fatigued from a tough workout, poor sleep, stress or strain on the body, or a combination of these factors. Allow your body to recover by prioritizing rest and recovery. This is an essential part of achieving any health and wellness goals because it prevents fatigue and exhaustion.
What's new with daily readiness score?
The daily readiness score now uses heart rate variability (HRV), resting heart rate (RHR), and sleep to provide a more accurate assessment of your body's recovery. The “activity” component of the score is replaced with “resting heart rate.” As a result, the score is no longer based on daily activity but on how your body responds to your overall routine.
This means you might have a low score even after days of light activity if your heart rate or variability is elevated. The readiness labels are now low, moderate, and high.
