Hey Fitbit Community,

Whether you call it slumber, snooze, or just plain sleep, it’s a crucial part of feeling your best every day. Though everyone is different, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that adults get at least 7 hours of sleep each night* to help:

For National Sleep Awareness Month, let's explore how your Fitbit Sleep tools can help you get those much-needed Zzz's.

Build healthy sleep habits

Just like a well-oiled machine, our internal clocks (circadian rhythms) function best when we maintain regularity. Fitbit's Sleep Schedule lets you set bedtime and wake-up goals, and it even sends you reminders to start winding down. This helps you establish a regular sleep-wake cycle, which is crucial for regulating your body's natural clock.

Understand your sleep quality

Each stage of your sleep (light, deep, and REM) and sleep patterns plays a different role in your overall rest. With the Sleep Stages, you can understand how much time you're spending in each stage and identify potential issues. For example, consistently low deep sleep might mean you're not fully recovering overnight.

After your unique sleep stage and pattern is analyzed, Fitbit Sleep Profile** provides you a monthly analysis of 10 key metrics***. It compares your data to other users to group you into one of 6 animal categories. It’s your sleep personality in animal form!

Sleep with ease

Minimize distractions automatically when you fall asleep using Auto-bedtime Mode****. This feature turns off your watch face and disables notifications. It also helps conserve your battery overnight, so you don’t miss out on your valuable sleep tracking, and it senses when you wake up and turns Bedtime Mode off. Analyze your sleep data

Fitbit Sleep Score gives you a simple, easy to understand number that reflects the overall quality of your sleep. This score is a great way to quickly view if you're on the right track or if you need to make some changes.

Pinpoint the reason(s) for tossing and turning

If you still have trouble falling asleep after adjusting your schedule, try to change some of your other habits, such as your caffeine intake or workout schedule. Sleep Insights helps you find patterns in your sleep habits and adjust your schedule accordingly.
