Calorie adjustment with MyFitnessPal

Hiya!

I’m a little confused with the whole calorie adjustment feature when I connect my Fitbit to MyFitnessPal app.

Is the number displayed my expected calorie intake? It seems considerably high especially noting the lack of exercise I’ve been doing recently.

Any help is appreciated, Thankyou ! :))

You don't specify what exactly seems high, it's generally fine in my experience.

You expend energy just to stay alive and how much depends on your body's needs. MFP and FitBit will guestimate how many calories your body will expend on average in a 24 hour period and base your caloric requirement on it. If you exercise or move more than average, you will use up more calories and that deficit will be added to the calories you can eat during the day.

It's best to eat just under the number you expend.
