Why are the calorie estimations for different activities so different on FitBit and MyFitnessPal. They both have my height and weight and age...shouldn't the estimations of, say, an hour of spinning be more in line with each other?
Best Answerusing a HRM I find that fitbit is accurate and MFP over-calculates calories burned, sometimes by a long way. I use MFP to input food because it has a brilliant datebase, particularly for those of us living in the UK, but I paid a lot of money for my fitbit and the technology it uses so I chose to ignore MFP and go with the fitbit every time.
Best AnswerThat's really interesting, because for me FitBit's calorie estimations are always higher than MFP's. I always feel a little cheated on MFP b/c FitBit tells me I earned more calories than MFP does. Maybe i'll assume the actual number is somwehere in the middle of the two estimations...
