Calories discrepancy between MFP and Fitbit

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi,

I’ve logged 1150 calories on the myfitnesspal app, but the fitbit app shows 1550. Anyone else has that problem? I’ve updated both apps a few days ago but haven’t been logging since (lazy me...!).

I just experience the same issue. I’ve been using MFP to log my food intake for the past 3 weeks and the data has flowed seemlessly and correctly from MFP to Fitbit - until today. Today’s data for breakfast and lunch are correct, but the dinner import is completely wrong. I can’t find an option to edit the calories on Fitbit. Anyone have any suggestions?

Welcome to the Forums @SunsetRunner and @Koinania.

Thanks for sharing your experienced with MFP and bringing this up.

In this case I'd like to recommend that you try to disconnect the apps and then connect them again. That should help so that all information starts syncing correctly between the two again. Do know that any information that has already synced will not be changed retroactively by this process.

Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions.

Hi,

I have this same issue; I had to adjust some entries in MyFitnessPal and my FitBit is telling me I ate 4300+ calories yesterday, which is ridiculous (the real number is <2000, as shown in MFP).

I’ve already disconnected and reconnected the apps multiple times and even uninstalled both from my phone and reinstalled them; nothing has worked and in fact the problem seems to have gotten worse.

Please advise on timeline to a fix; thanks!

I am also having this problem, not just duplicating entries, but leaving complete meals out. I’ve disconnected, and updated apps, even deleted and reinstalled. The problem is increasing I frequency. It used to happen once a month, now it’s every other day. Can someone help???

Just want to add to my previous post—does this mean we have no way of correcting bad data? Why is this? I’ve had no issue in the past adjusting entries in MFP and seeing the adjustment reflected in Fitbit, even if it took a couple of syncs / restarting the app.

If overwrites were eliminated from syncs (which would be super weird) we need a mechanism by which we can edit or remove bad data within the Fitbit app.

I’ve logged out and reinstalled both apps this morning, since then the amounts have been corresponding. But in order to the fitbit app to refresh correctly, I always have to quit both apps, then open MFP app, then open Fitbit app. It’s a bandaid, but at least it’s accurate again.

Hello @christina13, and @SunsetRunner. Welcome to the Forums @LanaLander.

Thanks for taking the time to try those steps and letting us know that the situation has persisted.

Since you have tried to disconnect and reconnect the apps, I'd like to recommend that you try getting in touch with MyFitnessPal directly since they are the ones who developed the connection. They should be able to take a closer look at why the numbers are changing like that.

@christina13 As I mentioned above, it is the way the connection was developed.

Feel free to let me know if there is anything else that I can help you with.
