Good morning,
My husband has type-2 Diabetes and tracks his blood sugar daily via an app and glucose kit provided by his secondary insurance, BlueCrossBlueShield Federal. The app/kit is Livongo.
It would be wonderful if the data produced could be integrated with our FitBit Pro data. Given how many other current and former Federal employees suffer from the same disease, I’m sure this would help thousands.
In addition, I see that many in the FitBit community have already informed you that the companies they work for are also providing them with Livongo to track glucose. They, too, have requested that FitBit provide integration with Livongo. I was saddened to see a FitBit administrator put this back on FitBit users to contact Livongo and make this happen. You certainly don't expect us to do your IT work for you.
Please let me and others know the status of our requests and whether this integration can be done. Hopefully you will see the importance of this effort and the kudos it will deliver to FitBit if you succeed.
Ieva Spons

Hi @Spopar1 I'm not sure what is available with the Fitbit API, normally it is up to the third party to setup a link with fitbit, or at least the third party needs to initiate the process.
Just a note that feature suggestions belong in the feature suggestion board.
I did a quick search and see that this has been suggested.

Good morning, again, Rich_Laue. I have added my request/suggestion to the suggestion board; however, I am not at all comfortable that this is the place to have my request reviewed, understood, and/or acted upon. Since being in touch with Livongo, I have learned that it is indeed possible to have Livongo interface with FitBit in a way that Livongo apps receive FitBit data re steps, etc. The issue is how to make data flow in the opposite direction: Livongo glucose data/app interface with FitBit and appear on FitBit Pro, which we pay for monthly. Any encouragement to FitBit programmers on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't looked into the API to know what is availible for sending data to fitbit. I know weight is.
Livongo may want to discuss options with fitbit.
As for the developers, the feature request is where they look to see which oprionsgare popular.

Fitbit public API doesn't make possible any integration regarding glucose.data keeping the possibility restricted only to One Touch meters, probably due to partner commercial.agreement.
This is different than what Fitbit does with weight data (anyone can send weight data to Fitbit) but similar to the privilege offered to Pandora and Deezer for music storage.

Thank you for this information. Hopefully FitBit API will reconsider it’s glucose data policy in light of Livongo app and glucose data being promoted by BlueCrossBlueShield and numerous companies/corporations across the country. FitBit, please listen to your paying (FitBit Pro) and non-paying but loyal subscribers.

With Pandora and Deezer, it is an app on the watch, that syncs, through WiFi while the tracker is charging, music with their music server.
It would be up to Livongo to get with fitbit, to possibly make it happen.
With IFTTT and Strava, Fitbit, does the syncing.
Then again, if you want to post where the fitbit developers may take notice, this thread should be in the feature request.

Again, thank you Rich_Laue for your persistent attempts to convince me it is Livongo’s responsibility to pursue this integration which would greatly benefit FitBit and its customers/subscribers. I continue to believe FitBit can and should make this happen, quickly. I also believe dealing directly with customer support rather than through community forums would be far more efficient than posting on community forums. Very odd to have that email option unavailable.

@Rich_Laue I'm not sure what IFTTT and Strava have anything to do with this matter.
Fitbit has not made available the API to input data to Fitbit for the glucose subject. Posting in the developer forum is not efficient as already few times there have been requests to enhance the API and users have been told that the question is out of their control.

Unfortunately, I just tried contacting FitBit customer support (via chat) and it was utterly useless. They also told me I need to contact Livongo to make it happen.

Yes, @Kaceysmom that is the case. Fitbit invites 3rd parties to pair up by using Fitbit's API.
The other way would be if the 3rd party contacts fitbit and invites fitbit to access their API. Like Fitbit handles the API on Strava.
In either case it would be a decision made by Livongo
@Rufous44 I haven't looked into it. The Glucose tile being relatively new may not be in the API.
The best course might be to advertise and add your vote to this request.

I agree please allow syncing with Livongo
