Hello,
I recently started using FitStar Yoga. The first session did not automatically sync to my Fitbit account so I entered it manually as Yoga and it counted towards my daily active minutes. I fixed the sync issue and my FitStar Yoga sessions now automatically appear in my Fitbit account. The first two sessions that automatically synced did not count towards my daily active minutes; The third session did.
Any idea why some sessions are counting towards active minutes and other are not? I thought it might have something to do with my average heart rate for the session, but that doesn't seem to be the case. My average heart rate was higher during one of the sessions which did not count than a session which did count towards active minutes.

Hi there @Jeff_G, I'm glad to see you around. Because the trackers primarily track movement through the use of an accelerometer, they more accurately detect active minutes for step-based activities (brisk walking, running) than non-step based activities or activities that require more than steps (yoga, tennis). Your tracker detect subtle differences in exertion that may explain why two seemingly identical activities result in different active minute totals.
Essentially active minutes are a measurement of time spent doing activity that is more intense than regular walking as our article explain:What are active minutes? If after reading the article you want more information on how metabolic equivalents (METs) are calculated, I recommend the wikipedia page at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metabolic_equivalent.
Let me know how it goes. I'll be around.

Hi,
i have the same issue. When i do my bedtime yoga it counts the active minutes, but when i do the morning one, which makes me actually move more it doesn't.
What do you think of that?
I mean in the bedtime yoga it's 16 minutes only, and mostly it's sitting and streching, while the other sessions make me move so much i even sweat...
any ideas?
