If I use Strava (which is linked to MyFitnessPal, which is in turn linked with Fitbit) to track a run whilst wearing my fitbit Zip, does the Calorie calculation on MyFitnessPal account for the fact that Strava/MFP will count the calories of the run and Fitibit Zip will simultaneously count the same calories via the step counter.
If so, does this mean it will automatically remove the duplicate calories for the final total at the end of the day or would I need to do this manually? If so, how do I do it?
If not, how do I manually add exercise without duplicating calories burnt? Or would it be better when going for a run or playing football etc. to take off the Zip and track it using my phone?
Thanks,
Ian

Hi there @GrosvenorJobs! I'll be happy to help you out on this one.
First, as a friendly tip, you can link Strava directly to Fitbit, so the activities you log in Strava can log directly to Fitbit. If you link Strava to your Fitbit account, please make sure to unlink MyFitnessPal, to prevent any duplicate activities.
All the information your Zip records during the activity will be overridden by the information that is logged from either Strava or MyFitnessPal.
You can leave Strava connected to MyFitnessPal and MyFitnessPal with Fitbit if you'd like, and log your activities to Strava, checking if they also log to Fitbit. If the activity doesn't log, it would be the best to connect Strava directly to Fitbit.
Let me know if you need anything else!

Hiya, thanks for your reply. I've linked fitbit and strava now. So to confirm, it won't duplicate the calories burned, it will simply log a run and only count one lot of calories.
If I track a cycle ride on strava, will it know not to count steps during the ride?
thanks,
Ian

That is correct @GrosvenorJobs. Just please make sure to unlink MyFitnessPal from your FItbit account. Since Strava is connected to both MyFitnessPal and Fitbit, that can cause that the activity logs twice in your Fitbit account and, therefore, duplicate steps, distance, calories, etc.
If you log cycle ride, most likely, you won't get steps logged, because you're not actually stepping while cycling.
I'll be around in case you have any further questions!
