Fitbit and Strava isn’t syncing

Is there a way to sync your workouts from strava to Fitbit and vice verse automatically without manually doing entering it, where they can show up on both at the same time? I have both of my accounts linked together already. As of yesterday, I did a workout on a treadmill and it isn’t showing up in my strava app. Am I doing something wrong?

If your Fitbit recorded run, or bike ride has been recorded with GPS, resulting in a map. Then if your Strava account is connected to your Fitbit account. After your sync, the Fitbit recorded event will be sent to Strava by Fitbit.

Most of the other connected apps are responsible for what they want to transfer.

Yes, @Sponkyknitter85 as long as your exercise is recorded with GPS.

In th treadmill the runner is standing still and GPS is useless.

@Rich_LaueI am using the GPS with my exercise every time, but will it transfer to the other app automatically. Or do I have to input it somehow, if so, how do I go about doing so? Thanks

It won’t show up in my days of workouts where it needs to go. Is there way to do that?

If your recording the run with Strava, I dinner think it will show up as an exercise in Fitbit.

If you record with your Fitbit, it should show up.

Fitbit should auto detect your run and record it as an exercise.

Thanks for the feedback. I will give that a try and see what happens.

@Rich_Laue  I recorded a run on strava for about 25 minutes or so without doing anything to my Versa2. Then I synced everything up and it never recognizes me running in the exercise. I had to manually put the info in. Is there something that I’m missing?

Have you checked with Strava to see if your Strava recorded run is suppose to be sent to Fitbit.

I usually record my runs with strava, because I like to see where workouts take me. My account for both are synced with each other. I don’t know if it is me or it is a software problem. Also, I just updated the app on my phone.

Has anyone researched to see what fitbit and Strava say will sync between e 2 accounts?

Are you sure that your Strava workouts are suppose to sync? Or are you just assuming?

Let's see what Strava says.

  • Fitbit supports two-way integration with Strava, which means when you head out running with your Fitbit fitness tracker or smartwatch the session will appear within your Strava workouts, and you can check how many records you smashed on your weekly route.
  • But perhaps even better, if you go on a Strava workout, your steps and calories will count into Fitbit's daily goals. If you've ever been frustrated by burning a thousand calories running but not getting the credit on your Fitbit, this is the answer.

@Sponkyknitter85 Your Strava workout is not suppose to transfer to Fitbit, only your Strava Steps and Calories will be collected by Fitbit, the actual Strava run/exercise will not show up in Fitbit.

This is by design and not a software problem..

I record my walls with Fitbit and its GPS so that I can see where I went. Having recorded with Fitbit and its gps my run will then sync to Strava.

With a 30 second search I was able to find out if what you.want to happen is suppose to happen, it is not.

@Rich_Laue I see now. Still, it is a pain that I have to manually record workout via Fitbit, if Stava won’t synced to my workouts. Then I have to manually do it myself. It’s almost what’s the point of having the both of them? Thanks for the help and input. Hopefully Fitbit can integrate strava and it’s owns workouts into each other soon.

The point is that with the 2 accounts connected, your Fitbit GPS recorded activity will get sent to your Strava account automatically.

I'm confused too! can't tell if my Strava is synced or not. I go to compatible apps in Starva, it prompts me to sign in, and directs me to my Fitbit dashboard ... But I can't tell at all what it means. There's no confirmation that the accounts are now linked. Is there something I'm missing?
