Fitbit and ViaFit

My new elliptical comes with the ViaFitness program. It is supposed to link with Fitbit. I was hoping that this would fix my "Elliptical Inaccuracy" issue, however, it overwrites the accurate ViaFit data with the incorrect Fitbit data. Has anyone used ViaFit? Any ideas?

Hello @YooperJeff and good to see you here in the Fitbit Community @cindyinVA. With ViaFit the information is coming from your exercise machine, while in Fitbit is coming from your tracker which are completely different technologies.

In this case will depends entirely  from the integration between ViaFit and Fitbit and what information has priority at the moment to share data.

For more details I recommend to contact ViaFit as @WendyB suggested before. Many Integrations are not available from our list of supported apps. These integrations most of them are not developed by us, but from the third party who uses our open API.

ViaFit belongs to Johnson Health Tech, if the support is not available from ViaFit website, perhaps they can offer you more support.

Hope this helps, see you around.

I think you will need to ask this on ViaFit

Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to contact them and it is not one of the FAQ. It's a very rudimentary app.

Usually when i have a question about something an Fitbit, i go to google, in this case i found an article stating that the can sync, are at least they did in 2014.  In any cae the connextion needs to be initiated from theihr end.

ViaFit gives users the option to use the included workout tracking tools or connect to multiple third party apps and communities, including: FitBit®, MyFitnessPal®, Facebook®, BodyMedia®, MapMyFitness®, Carepass®, RunKeeper®

I did google it before posting. They do sync, however, the Fitbit data takes priority over the ViaFit data, meaning the data from the Elliptical (which is correct in mileage, etc.) is overwritten with the incorrect data from Fitbit. I'm sorry if that wasn't clear in my original post.

I was just hoping that someone had encountered the same issue and had found a solution. That is why I posted.

I had the same issue with my recumbent bike. Was not able to find a solution. It would subtract miles from my biking stats. I finally ended up unlinking the two and view them separately. Frustrating
