Fitbit not syncing with Strava

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

From early January 2025 Fitbit no longer synchronizes with Strava. All recommended steps have been taken to reset the connection but these have all failed to rectify the issue.

I use a Fitbit Versa 4 with the Fitbit app on an Apple iPhone 13. These synchronize fine. Activities on Fitbit (with GPS) do NOT synchronize with Strava.

This issue has been raised with both Fitbit and Strava and both have blamed each other.

For reference: Actvities logged directly on Strava also do NOT synchronize with Fitbit.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue and if so has anyone resolved this? If not, what is the escalation process within Fitbit as it seems that this device isn’t fit for purpose?

I tried to upload my workout from Fitbit manually to Strava and received a "not enough data points to upload" error from Strava. It seems like Fitbit has given up on so many fronts, which is wild because they're backed by Google, who should do better. Really regretting not going with another tracking device company.

Hi, still having the same issue.... it is now getting close to 6 months which is ridiculous and it sounds like it's affecting many users. Really considering moving to Garmin app and getting a brand new watch because I am getting tired of uploading all workouts manually now

Mine work but only as a run. Walk does not show up on Strava at all.

For runs, I have to let my Fitbit update first as an exercise. Then I go to Strava and it pops up. Can’t get cadence to show up on data though the rest is pretty accurate. And I’m not mad at it so long as I don’t need to buy a new device

I record walks, runs and bike rides and nothing goes to Strava. I have tried lots of different tricks and go through logging in and out and relinking both accounts on a monthly basis just in case it starts working again. I do 2 or 3 activities per day so it's a lot to go through manually on a weekly basis

Hi Everyone!

I'm glad to inform you that we've made some updates to the Strava integration that should address issues with workouts syncing between the apps.

Additional troubleshooting steps (if needed): Refer to the steps below to ensure that your Fitbit and Strava accounts are connected.

Fitbit App

  1. Open the Fitbit app.
  2. Tap Today > your profile picture (or gear if you haven’t updated to a Google account) > Fitbit settings .
  3. Tap Manage access to account > Manage connected apps.
  4. Confirm Official Strava is connected

Strava App

  1. Open the Strava app.
  2. Tap You from the bottom menu.
  3. Tap Settings on the top right
  4. Tap Manage apps and devices.
  5. Confirm Fitbit is connected

If you’ve confirmed that both apps are connected, but data is still not syncing between the two applications after you have completed at least one supported exercise (run, walk, hike, cycling) with GPS, try revoking the connections to BOTH applications using the steps below:

Fitbit App:

  1. Open the Fitbit app.
  2. Tap Today > your profile picture (or gear if you haven’t updated to a Google account) > Fitbit settings .
  3. Tap Manage access to account > Manage connected apps.
  4. Disconnect access to Strava

Strava App

  1. Open the Strava app.
  2. Tap You from the bottom menu.
  3. Tap Settings on the top right
  4. Tap Manage apps and devices.
  5. Unselect Fitbit and follow the steps to Disconnect access to Fitbit

Once BOTH applications have been revoked respectively, restart the authorization process by referring to the steps below:

  1. Visit strava.fitbit.com and click Connect.
  2. Log in to your Strava account.
  3. When prompted, authorize Fitbit and Strava to connect, then follow the on-screen prompts.

Strava App

1) You > Settings (gear icon)

2) 'Connect to an app or device'

3) 'Fitbit'

4) Follow instructions to authorize Fitbit and Strava to connect

Note: The connection is forward moving, so only new GPS activities will sync moving forward. Historical GPS activities will not sync upon connecting.

We always appreciate your feedback, thank you for your patience.
