Fitbit syncing with Myfitnesspal

Hi

I see you can sync Myfitnesspal with fitbit, but how exactly (step by step guide please) do you do this.  I have already set up my fitbit and works great, and I have also set up a myfitnesspal account and added the fitbit app.  It says its connected, but does not pull through any data.  What am I missing please.

You need to link it here

https://www.fitbit.com/partnership

It will walk you through it.

I do not now if you need to do something at MFP though. You will need to check there

Hi, this does not really help much, as it just goes through to the App page, but does not give a blow by blow steps of how to get the two apps talking to each other.

I have got Myfitnesspal to talk to FitBit, but not vice versa, and its FitBit to Myfitnesspal that I want to get working so can see a better breakdown of foods that Myfitnesspal offers.

Do you need a premium account in FitBit to allow exporting of data / info ?

Welcome to the forums @JazzFM1967! Linking Fitbit and MyFitnessPal through the link @WendyB provided above will get both apps to connect and share information.

At the time you link your MFP account and your Fitbit; you can check your Fitbit information on MFP in the Reports Page, such as sleep, steps and body fat %.

If you're not seeing your Food Logs from MFP being imported to your Fitbit Log on the Food Logging Page, or your Calories from Exercise (calories for fitbit steps) on your MyFitnessPal Daily Log; please follow these steps to get back on track.

Hi

No, as my question was

"I have got Myfitnesspal to talk to FitBit, but not vice versa, and its FitBit to Myfitnesspal that I want to get working"

Please advise how to get this working.  Thanks

Have you gone to the apps and devices section on Myfitnesspal?  in there mine has an all tab and a connected section.  I have Fitbit under my connected section.  If it is not there you probably have to select and authorize communication from the all tab.

Hello again @JazzFM1967! Here are some steps that may help.

Welcome to the forums @thebestonice! I'll be glad to help on this. Smiley Happy

In this case, it's best if we link and unlink your MFP account from Fitbit. Here's how to do it:

  1. Go to your Apps page and search at the middle right of the page for the apps you currently have linked.
  2. Select Fitbit tracker
  3. Click on Disconnect
  4. Log out of Fitbit and MFP.
  5. Log back in
  6. Log into MyFitnessPal and click Apps.
  7. In the App Gallery, find Fitbit and click Connect.
  8. Click Allow to give MyFitnessPal access to your Fitbit data.
  9. Follow the instructions provided.

Also, please note that all food and water items must be logged through MFP and your steps, exercises, manual logs and other activities need to be logged through Fitbit; this will prevent any double logging or incorrectly increasing your caloric budget for the day.

Let me know if you have any questions, take care!

Nope, tried all this, and FitBit will not talk to MyFitnessPal with regard to food inputted into FitBit.

Can you confirm that FitBit should be able to do this ?

Welcome to the forums @Oliviakelle ! @JazzFM1967 It's great to see you here. Smiley Happy

Back in april the MFP team encountered a problem when the Fitbit steps and calorie adjustments are not syncing to the MyFitnessPal accounts. They were aware of an issue affecting some members and still are looking into a fix for this issue.

The main suggestion is to make sure that you have Fitbit selected as your step source. To do so, please visit the Steps section of MFP and verify that they are indeed syncing in your Reports Page.

If you have verified that Fitbit is your step source but you're not seeing the steps or calorie adjustment on your Diary; let's unlink your MFP account from Fitbit and viceversa following these steps and then uninstall MFP from your mobile device. Reinstall and link again.
