Fitbit with SpiritFit

I purchased a Spirit Recumbent Bike, Model XBR-55 last week. In the users manual, it states that the Spirit Fit app syncs with Fitbit.  I spent significant time on the Fitbit Chat support trying to find someone who would explain to me why I can't complete the sync.  After speaking with 3 different people, all I was able to conclude from the discussions was that Fitbit had no record of this app relationship.  I am including a picture of page from Spirit's manual.  Any help with this would be appreciated.:  fullsizeoutput_8681.jpeg

Hi there @Spopar, good to see you again. You are correct, this integration does not figure among the officially supported integrations.

However there are many other apps that work with Fitbit, that are not officially supported by us, but in this instance is require to contact directly the developer of the integration to know more about the issue you are experiencing and how it works.

See you around and let me know if you have other concerns.

Robert,

I have sent a letter to Dyaco, developer of the app and recumbent bike. It is a Chinese developer and I do not speak Chinese.

Tech support for SpiritFit and the Spirit bike has said: have technicians install a new console (which is ridiculous), watch youtube installation videos (which say nothing about the app), follow the manual instructions (which of course we have, to no avail), and, lastly, "we are tech support for the bike — not the app — contact the Chinese developer who we represent".

I am clearly frustrated at all of the nonanswers I am getting.

As far as FitBit, at least can you explain to me why while wearing my Charge HR I get no credit for time spent on an indoor bike…I can’t even identify it as a type of exercise.

Thank you,

Hello @Spopar, thank you for keep me posted how it goes. I'm sorry about the integration, however we do not have control over the information it should sync SpiritFit, but I can give you the answer about your exercise.

Your tracker is designed to track your movement while your are going forward specially if the exercise include steps impact. Whit bike riding most of this motion pattern rely on your indoor bike, so your tracker finds difficult to read this movement as is not reading a motion of going forward. The best in this situations is to manually log your activities.

To log activities through your online-Dashboard:

  1. Log into your fitbit.com dashboard.
  2. At the top of the page click Log > Activities.
  3. Click a common activity or search for one. If the activity is not in our system, create your own by clicking the Create custom activity text that appears below the search field.
  4. Enter the duration, distance (if applicable), and start time of your activity. You can enter the number of calories burned if you'd like to.
  5. Click Log. Your activity will now be visible and editable in the Activity History area.

If you are using iOS or Android:

  1. On the Fitbit app dashboard tap the Exercise tile to open your exercise history. This is the tile that says "Track exercise" or shows how many days you've worked out this week.
  2. Tap the stopwatch icon in the top right corner.
  3. On iOS tap Log. If you are on Android tap Log Previous.
  4. Adjust the activity details and tap Log It.

Hope this helps and catch ya later!

Would it work on the fitbit and track if you attach the fitbit to your leg while riding?

HI, I just bought this bike a few days ago. I see same problem. The advertising brochure from Spirit has the Fitbit logo on it even.

@Spopar did you ever get it to link/sync

@RobertoME hello. I see this post is from 2017. Have there been any changes of support for Spirit with Fitbit?

I did not. Best I can get is to put my Fitbit hand on knee to keep track of "steps"
