Hi,

No mapping is synced. I agree about MMF being much better and it has the added bonus of being accurate 😊 See the thread https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Android-App/MobileRun-GPS-distance-mapping-inaccurate/td-p/897352/ju... about how badly MobileRun is working currently.

I've had the same problem.  I have read (somewhere in the forums) that the only data currently synced is steps from Fitbit to MMF.  I'm using MMF (actually MMWalk) to track my daily walking/jogging and I do have steps listed for each workout - I assume that's from Fitbit, but can't say for certain that MMW isn't using the phone to estimate steps.

I do know that workouts tracked in MMF do not sync to Fitbit and that heart rate doesn't sync from Fitbit to MMF - I wish both sides would change that.  I'm using MMF because the Fitbit MobileRun component isn't working correctly right now but will probably not switch to it when it's fixed because I like the MMF shoe mileage tracker and the ability to summarize my week and month exercise distance & time seperately from my overall walking.

thanks db, really dissapointing as I wouldnt have bought if i'd known as i've become quite taken with MMF as its so comprehensive if you do a wide range of activities & you can map your own ride routes etc.

I had to blind buy an MS band a few weeks ago and that was good functionaly but way to uncomfortable to wear all day or with free weight training so plumped for the HR even though I lost GPS (thought id carry phone for that)

so HR readings & the workouts i logg with the Charge (and then change activity manualy within fitbit software) will not upload to MMF, great!

i wander if its possible to change this within future updates, and if so, if its theiur intention?

looks like I'll have an MS band and Fitbit HR up for sale now! 😞

I walked with mapmyrun on sunday, & that's been imported into fitbit (charge, but since it's mmf to fitbit I don't know that the tracker model would matter).  I was told you need myfitnesspal to middleman from mmf to fitbit.

I've moved this post to the 3rd party forum since this is about the MMF and Fitbit.

There should be someone her so understand what is happening.

My thoughts would be to go to yours 3rd party App permission page.

Check and see if it is read/wrote permission.

Also revoke access, then go back to MMF and request access again, a inch ago this is the steps needed to find mmf - Fitbit link.

I have also used MMF linked to MFP and then to Fitbit.  It worked OK and you are correct, the workouts did appear in the Fitbit activity log.  The calorie burn was, however, based on the value from MFP (and I assume sent to MFP by MMF, but I didn't confirm) and was thus NOT based on the heart rate data logged by Fitbit.

I want it to go the other way around - I want the calorie burn based on the heart rate under the assumption that this will provide better accuracy.  It seems pointless to have a Fitbit if I'm going to disregard the calories burned by my most intense activities each day.  For now, I'm running MMF to get accurate walk/jog mapping, gear tracking (shoe mileage) and weekly/monthly distance for my workouts and simultaneously using the "activity logging" (push and hold button) on the Charge HR to get the workout to appear on the Fitbit log & calendar so I can get the satisfaction/motivation of seeing my walking and weight lifting workouts on the calendar and see the days I miss.

I really like the gear tracker and and ability to see my weekly/monthly mileage (separate from overall incidental distance) in MMF, so I'll not likely switch back to MobileRun until (unless?) it incorporates those features.

I can understand Fitbit wanting to keep users in it's ecosystem instead of encourging the use of (perhaps) competing platforms and I'm not at all sure if the lack of heart rate data sync is due to Fitbit or MMF decisions (afterall, MMF sells a heart rate strap), but I would like to have better sync.

ok, so if i hook up MFP in the middle, all logged workouts from MMF will go to the FitBit software, but does that inc mapping or just the stats?

trouble is the MMF software is soooo much better than fitbit so i'd prefer the info go the other way but as you've explained it looks like that aisnt going to happen anytime soon.

cant beleive I can see another a 3rd tracker purchase on the horizon, its really hard to see all this before you've actualy bought n tried 😞

One problem I see is that it is not working badly for all. I'd the inaccurate related to the Phone hardware, or OS, others have noticed when doing something like racketeering data, which triggered a hardware indirectly their GPS goes wacky.

thanks for input everyone, none of this is very user friendly imo, being able to choose your software and hardware seperately shouldnt be this much of a problem tbh.
develop the best tracker or the best software (or both) but dont hold your product back by not letting the user find the software that suits them most, smacks of them being data hungry more than wanting their hardware to be sucesfull.

Has anybody asked MMF if they do send or can add the feature to export your workouts to Fitbit?
