It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community @SweetT. I am afraid the Fitbit app works only with Fitbit products. There is actually no option to sync a non Fitbit product to the Fitbit app. Regarding your question about the third party apps, here is a list of the current available apps that can be linked to Fitbit.
Additionally, you can take a look at the Fitbit trackers we currently have in the store and their features.
Thanks for stopping by, see you around.

I already have the surge. My husband bought the Apple Watch for me as a Christmas gift and I like the Fitbit app and the challenges. So, I just wanted to see what the best app was to use. You would think out of all of the apps that there would be one that works the best. That was my question. Thank you!

Hi SweetT,
Have a look at SyncSolver. It's a 3rd party app that can sync steps from HealthKit to FitBit. Not sure if the steps count towards challenges though.

Apparently Fitbit disabled a lot of the functionality from 3rd party syncing apps starting around 12/1/2015.
