Hi @lorraineg the proposed acquisition won't be until sometime in 2020. You know how these mergers happen. It will take time for everything to be sorted, so there is no way of knowing when Google Pay will be added.
I can't believe its quicker to add less often requested Amazon functionality to newer watches though. It just seems really strange that even their latest and greatest Charge 4 Special Edition also only has Fitbit Pay. If another manufacturer of smart devices doesn't tempt me first with a suitable product having Google Pay, Fitbit will be waiting as long as it takes for their share of money to filter through from my purchase of one of their devices. Surely they want this sooner rather than later (or if they're too slow, not at all)? I'd really like a Google Pay equipped wrist worn device to match my Google Pixel phone and a Google owned company (one would assume) would be in the best position to provide it.
Oh and I hasten to add, I dont see this lack of Google Pay being due to Google themselves but it seems to be intransigence on Fitbits part.
Best AnswerWho really knows!
but i would think so, it doesnt make much sense for Google to operate two different pay systems (Google pay and fitbit pay)
I would also hope this change over happens quick as i dont think anyone who does not already have fitbit pay integration will be developing it now.
