Is my imported activity negating steps?

I have my Force on my non-dominant wrist and wear it while I'm on the treadmill and elliptical.  When I input the time & calorie burn into MFP and fitbit imports it in, it has no steps listed and I am unable to edit to add a step count (I can update the mileage however).  Does this negate the steps that were tracked during that time from my daily count?  I've searched, but haven't been able to find an answer and am hoping that it doesn't fall into the "riding in a car" category.

From what I've gathered because I've had the same exact question, the only stats that are affected in your Fitbit account when you sync a partner like MFP or Digifit are the stats that the partner app tracks like distance or calories so the stats are not counted twice, as long as you have a start time and end time for your activity that is synced.... if that makes sense. So for example, if you were to fun with your Force, but also track your run through MFP and they both track distance during that run, your MFP would overwrite the distance that Fitbit tracked with your Force because MFP uses GPS and would be more accurate. On the flip side, MFP does not track steps so therefore would not overwrite your steps from your MFP workout.

Let me say that I have not actually seen this in any sort of actual Fitbit document, but I have seen similar answers in many posts.

Are you sure it's OK for fitbit to record the calories from MFP and the steps from the workout itself?

If your tracking calories then will you not get the calorie credit from the MFP imported workout and an additional allowance from the steps recorded by the tracker?

This is really confusing me!
